Developer tools MCP servers

Connect coding assistants to repositories, issues, containers, errors and current documentation.

  • 36 MCP servers

Developer tool servers give coding assistants access to the places where software work happens: repositories, issues, pull requests, local files, containers and error trackers. We use servers like these in our own AI-accelerated development, always with an engineer reviewing each change.

Some servers in this category are reference servers from the MCP project, built to show how the protocol works. They are useful for learning and prototypes, but check the maintainer notes before relying on them in production.

How to choose

How to choose in this category

Scope tokens tightly: read-only where possible, and only the repositories a task needs. Keep production credentials out of coding agents. For file access, limit the server to a specific folder. Review every change an agent proposes before it is merged.
