Why it matters
What it does and why it matters
Jira is the work tracker for a large share of software and IT teams. Atlassian's official server, now called the Rovo MCP Server, covers Jira and Confluence together. An assistant can search issues with JQL, read and create issues, edit them, move them through workflow states and comment, and can search, read and create Confluence pages.
For project managers, "what is blocked in this sprint" becomes a question. For engineers, the assistant can read the issue and the related design page in one step.
The server moved to a new endpoint in 2026, and the older SSE endpoint was shut off on June 30, 2026, so update any older setup. Delete tools exist but are off by default, which we recommend keeping. Sign-in follows your Atlassian account and permissions.
