SaaS Product Development
Subscription products with billing that just works
We build products people pay for every month or year: memberships, SaaS tools and content platforms, with plans, trials and billing built in from the start, so recurring revenue is simple to run.
The problem
The problem this solves
Recurring revenue is attractive because it compounds, but the mechanics are fiddly. Plans change. Customers upgrade in the middle of a month, pause, switch cards, ask for refunds or move to annual billing. Taxes differ by country. Cards expire and payments fail.
When billing is bolted on late, all of this lands on your team. Someone reconciles payments by hand, access is not removed when a subscription ends, and failed payments quietly turn into lost customers. Worse, pricing experiments become engineering projects, so you stop trying them.
We design the subscription model early, connect it to a proven billing provider such as Stripe, and let the product react automatically to every billing event through webhooks. Your team gets clear reports on revenue, churn and failed payments, and changing a price becomes a setting rather than a sprint.
We also think about the customer side of billing. A clear pricing page, an honest trial, easy cancellation and useful receipts all reduce support tickets and chargebacks. Good billing is as much about trust as it is about code.

AI and people
Where AI helps, where people decide
AI makes the repetitive parts faster. The decisions that shape your product stay with experienced people.
Where AI speeds things up
-
Listing billing edge cases so none are missed in planning.
-
Generating webhook handlers and the tests for each billing event.
-
Drafting billing emails, receipts and help articles.
-
Building the admin and reporting screens from the data model.
-
Checking that access rules match every plan.
Where people decide
-
Your pricing, plans and what each includes.
-
How generous trials, refunds and grace periods should be.
-
The tone of every billing email a customer receives.
-
Tax and compliance setup with your accountant.
-
When billing is reliable enough to take real money.
Is this right for you?
When this is the right choice
A good fit when
-
You charge customers monthly or yearly for access.
-
You expect to change pricing or add plans over time.
-
Billing today involves manual invoices or spreadsheets.
Consider something else when
-
You sell one-off products. A standard online store fits better.
-
You have a handful of large clients invoiced by contract. Accounting software may be enough.
Timeline and cost
What affects the timeline and cost
Adding subscriptions to an existing product usually takes a few weeks. A new subscription product includes this within the larger build. Usage-based pricing, seats or complex tax needs add time. We test every billing scenario with the provider test tools before any real customer is charged, and switch on monitoring for failed payments from day one.
We do not publish fixed prices because scope drives cost. How we estimate.
-
Pricing model
Flat plans are quickest. Usage-based, seat-based and hybrid pricing take longer.
-
Countries and taxes
Selling in many countries brings currency and tax handling.
-
Payment methods
Each extra method or gateway adds setup and testing.
-
Accounting integration
Syncing invoices and payments to accounting software adds work.
-
Existing subscribers
Migrating customers from another billing system needs careful planning.
-
Reporting needs
Detailed revenue, cohort and churn reports add data and design work.

Usually Stripe, because it handles subscriptions, invoices and many payment methods well. We also work with Paddle, PayPal and local gateways when they fit better. See payment integration.
Yes. We add a billing portal where they change plans, update cards, download invoices and cancel, which cuts support requests.
With automatic retries, reminder emails and a grace period before access changes. Recovering failed payments is one of the easiest ways to reduce churn.
Yes. We model plans so new prices can be added without code changes, and existing customers can keep their old price if you choose. See adding subscriptions to a SaaS.
