Asana helps teams plan and track work across projects. Its official MCP server lets an assistant search tasks and projects, read your tasks, create and update tasks, add comments, create projects and post project status updates.
Status updates are a good example of the value: the assistant can read what changed in a project this week and draft the update a manager would otherwise write by hand.
Asana shut off its first version of the server on May 11, 2026. The current version needs an OAuth app registered in advance, so plan a little setup time with your Asana administrator. Access follows the signed-in user.
