Airtable sits between a spreadsheet and a database and powers many small-business systems: content calendars, inventories, CRMs and request trackers. Airtable's official hosted MCP server lets an assistant list workspaces, create bases, list interface pages and read records. Airtable describes wider read and write access to records, comments, tables, fields, interfaces and automations.
That means an assistant can answer questions about a base and, where allowed, add or update records.
Airtable names only five tools in its documentation at review time, so we list those and describe the rest in general terms. Because it can change fields and automations, not just records, we connect it with access to the specific bases a workflow needs and test changes on a copy of the base.
