Canva is the design tool of choice for many marketing teams and small businesses. Its official MCP server lets an assistant search designs, read them, generate new designs, export and resize them, upload assets from a link, create folders, comment on designs, list brand kits and import designs.
For marketing teams, that means requests such as "resize last week's post for Instagram Stories and LinkedIn" handled in one step, using the brand kit.
Canva's docs show no command-line setup for Claude Code and say outside clients must be registered with Canva, so plan setup with your Canva administrator. Generated designs should always be checked by someone who knows the brand before they are published.
The biggest time savings usually come from repetitive work: resizing one design for many channels, exporting in several formats and keeping folders tidy. Creative direction stays with your team.
